Stockholm Syndrome is a Melbourne‑based DJ/producer project led by Iain Mac (aka Pyz, he/him), originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. After over two decades of DJing and promoting internationally, Iain moved to Melbourne in 2010 and formed Stockholm Syndrome, quickly becoming a respected figure in Australia’s underground electronic scene. Stockholm Syndrome’s sound is eclectic, moody and genre‑defying, drawing listeners into rich, varied club experiences. His sets and productions explore everything from dark, sub‑120 BPM techno and Mex‑tech to Balearic acid house, slo‑mo grooves and more experimental dance floor textures — a style that cannot be neatly boxed into a single genre but reflects deep roots in underground electronic culture. Based in Melbourne’s vibrant nightlife, Stockholm Syndrome has played iconic venues such as Revolver Upstairs, New Guernica, The Liberty Social, Boney and The Mercat, and appeared at events like Piknic Electronik and Rainbow Serpent Festival. He also curates the monthly Hostage Radio podcast, runs his own Tilt Shift events, and continues to release music and collaborate with other artists on respected international labels.
