Bio
$uicideboy$ is an American hip-hop duo from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 2013 by cousins Scott “Scrim” Arceneaux Jr. and Aristos “Ruby da Cherry” Petrou. They gained early popularity on SoundCloud, building a strong underground following through self-produced music characterized by harsh beats, lo-fi aesthetics, and emotionally intense lyrics. Their music is often associated with punk rap, emo rap, trap, and underground hip-hop, and they are known for blending aggressive production with themes of depression, substance abuse, nihilism, and personal struggle. The duo independently runs their label G\*59 Records, through which they release most of their music. Their debut studio album I Want to Die in New Orleans (2018) marked their breakout into mainstream charts while maintaining their underground identity.
