Sulla Lingua is an Italian‑Australian experimental rock trio formed in 2021, consisting of Anthony Pateras (synth & samples), Stefano Pilia (baritone guitar) and Riccardo La Foresta (drums / custom “drummophone”). The project emerged from a residency in Modena where La Foresta’s “drummophone” instrument was manipulated by Pateras and Pilia. The trio’s sound blends troglodytic rhythms, math‑rock groove, krautrock heaviness and minimalist texture into a unique experimental rock language. Their debut full‑length album, ON, is described as “a granitic slab of troglodyte rhythms … good‑time‑math‑prog‑disco‑slow‑head‑banging.” “Sulla Lingua” translates from Italian roughly as “on the tongue” or “on language”, symbolizing their interest in crossing idioms and musical languages.
