Bio
SWAR is a Nepali indie/pop-rock band based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Formed in the early 2020s, the band quickly rose to prominence within the Nepali music scene for its heartfelt songwriting, melodic arrangements, and polished production style. The group features Swapnil Sharma (vocals), Rohit Shakya (guitar/production), and Gautam Tandukar (drums) — each established musicians in their own right before forming SWAR. Their music combines emotionally resonant Nepali lyrics with a clean and modern pop-rock sound, blending influences from alternative and soft rock traditions. Tracks like “Aparibhasit,” “Badal Sari,” “Ma Mare Pani,” and “Bistarai” have become fan favorites, earning significant airplay and online traction. SWAR’s style is characterized by introspective themes, smooth vocal delivery, and a balance of contemporary pop sensibilities with an authentic Nepali edge. Through their evolving sound, the band continues to connect with listeners across Nepal and the Nepali diaspora worldwide.
