Bio
Sweet Unrest are a London-based five-piece formed in 2023, known for their self-described genre “Gritpop.” Their sound combines indie and alternative rock with Britpop, garage rock, punk, grunge and 90s rock, balancing melodic songwriting with a much heavier, chaotic live energy. The band consists of Jack River (vocals), Leon Theo (bass), Tom Waller (rhythm guitar), Marlo Richards (lead guitar) and Dani Jam (drums). Sweet Unrest have built a strong reputation on London's grassroots circuit through their Sweet Spot residency at The Camden Eye. They have also performed at festivals including The Great Escape, Isle of Wight, Lakefest and Tramlines, and have supported artists including Carl Barât, Republica and The Vapors. Their debut physical release, “Falling For You / Peace of Mind,” reached No. 12 on the UK Vinyl Singles Chart and sold out at Rough Trade. They have also recorded at Abbey Road Studios and received BBC Radio 6 Music support from Steve Lamacq
