Bio
Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are an Australian alternative rock band formed in Canberra in 2015. The group consists of Anna Ryan (vocals/guitar), Scarlett McKahey (guitar/vocals), Neve van Boxsel (bass), and Maisy McLeod (drums). They began as teenagers playing local gigs and quickly built a reputation for their raw, energetic live performances. Their music blends punchy indie rock with punk influences and sharp, relatable lyrics that often explore themes like youth, identity, relationships, and frustration with social expectations. They are known for their DIY spirit and strong presence in Australia’s modern indie scene. The band gained wider recognition through Triple J support and festival appearances, helping them become one of the notable emerging acts in Australian alternative music. They continue to grow their audience with a sound that is loud, direct, and emotionally honest, combining catchy hooks with a punk edge.
