The Coronas are an Irish indie rock band from Dublin, known for their melodic songwriting, heartfelt lyrics, and energetic live performances. Formed in 2003 by school friends Danny O’Reilly (vocals/guitar), Graham Knox (bass), and Conor Egan (drums), the band rose to prominence in Ireland with their debut album Heroes or Ghosts (2007), which established their signature sound — anthemic rock infused with pop sensibility and emotional storytelling. Their follow-up albums, Tony Was an Ex-Con (2009) and Closer to You (2011), cemented their status as one of Ireland’s leading alternative acts, earning multiple Meteor Music Award nominations. Over time, The Coronas expanded their fanbase internationally with hits like “San Diego Song,” “Addicted to Progress,” and “Find the Water.” The band continued to evolve with albums such as Trust the Wire (2017), which debuted at No.1 on the Irish Albums Chart, and Time Stopped (2022), showcasing deeper lyrical themes and mature production. Known for their powerful live shows, The Coronas have headlined major venues including Dublin’s 3Arena and festivals across Europe, maintaining a loyal following built on authenticity and emotional connection.
