Bio
The Fray is an American rock band formed in Denver, Colorado in 2002 by Isaac Slade and Joe King. The group rose to international fame with their 2005 debut album How to Save a Life, which produced two major global hits: “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How to Save a Life.” Their signature sound is built around emotional piano-driven songwriting, soaring melodies, and introspective themes that helped define mid-2000s pop-rock. They continued their success with albums such as The Fray (2009) and Scars & Stories (2012), earning multiple Grammy nominations and widespread television and film placements. In 2022, lead vocalist Isaac Slade departed the band, but The Fray returned in 2024 with a new EP, marking a refreshed era led by remaining members Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki. Across two decades, the band has remained known for their heartfelt storytelling and mainstream pop-rock appeal.
