Bio
The Meltdown is a Melbourne-based Australian soul band known for blending classic Southern soul, jazz, blues, gospel, and Motown influences with modern songwriting. Fronted by the powerful vocals of Simon Burke, the group has built a strong reputation through uplifting live performances, rich horn arrangements, and groove-driven rhythms. The band emerged from Melbourne's thriving soul scene and signed with Hopestreet Recordings in 2015. Their acclaimed self-titled debut album was released in 2017, followed by extensive touring and festival appearances. Their sound is often described as "Southern soul from the great southern land," drawing inspiration from Stax, Motown, Memphis soul, gospel, and Nashville songwriting traditions.
