Bio
The Pool Cleaners are a blues-driven rock power trio from Perth, Western Australia. Formed in 2004 by Denis Belliveau (vocals/guitar) and Sean Ryan (drums), they carved out a reputation for delivering gritty riffs, swaggering grooves, and a mix of vintage 1970s rock, ’90s alternative grit, and psychedelic flair. After a long hiatus of over a decade, the band reunited with bassist Michael Cheeseman and returned to the scene with renewed energy. Known for their raw and unpolished sound, they have been compared to The Black Keys and ZZ Top, blending blues, funk, punk, and surf-rock sensibilities. Their comeback album Love Explosion (2025) marked their first new release in 12 years, celebrated with a live show at the Indian Ocean Hotel in Scarborough, WA. Earlier tracks like Steve McQueen and Thunder Eagle gained them attention on Triple J Unearthed, and their live shows are praised for high-energy, no-frills rock ’n’ roll authenticity.
