The Rising Tide is a heavy music band from Manawatū‑Whanganui, New Zealand known for their intense, brutal sound and commanding live performances. Formed in September 2012, they quickly became a force in NZ’s underground metal scene. The Rising Tide originally gained attention in the early 2010s but took a hiatus before reforming in 2021 with a new lineup, bringing renewed energy and heavier material back to stages across Aotearoa. The band consists of five members, including Dylan Rober’t, Phil Brooks, Henry van Echtenv, Cody Lee, and Matthew Colledge who collectively deliver crushing riffs, downtuned guitars, and visceral vocals that define their style. Their discography includes notable releases such as the EP Visions (2022) and the concept EP The Hope We Die For (2023), with subsequent singles like Deathwish (2026) and tracks that blend ferocity with occasional atmospheric elements. The Rising Tide are known for their explosive live shows at venues nationwide from Palmerston North to Auckland where their high‑intensity performance and heavy sound connect deeply with metal and hardcore fans.
