The Ronson Hangup are a Melbourne-based jangle-pop and psych-rock supergroup, formed by members of some of Australia’s most respected bands, including The Anyones, Even, The Church, and Courtney Barnett’s band. Centered around Steve Pinkerton (The Anyones, Dallas Crane) and Ashley Naylor (Even, The Church, Paul Kelly band), the project was born from a shared admiration for the legendary Mick Ronson. Known for their fuzzy guitar riffs, power-pop hooks, and classic ’80s/’90s Australian rock sound, The Ronson Hangup blend melody, grit, and nostalgia with sharp songwriting. Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 2010, the band has continued to evolve, returning with Centaurus (2023) a confident, guitar-driven release that cements their status as a standout live and recorded act in the Australian rock scene.
