Bio
The Sleeping Souls are the long-time backing band for English singer-songwriter Frank Turner. Formed in the mid-2000s, the group originally came together from musicians who had worked with Frank Turner on his early solo recordings. They officially became known as The Sleeping Souls as Turner’s touring and recording band developed into a consistent lineup. The band members include Ben Lloyd (guitar), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (keys/guitar), and Callum Green (drums), with Nigel Powell as a former drummer. They are known for their tight, high-energy live performances that support Turner’s folk-punk songwriting. While primarily known as a backing band, The Sleeping Souls have also stepped into their own spotlight in recent years, releasing original material and performing independent shows, showing they are more than just a support act. Their sound blends punk rock energy with melodic folk and indie rock influences, and they are a key part of Frank Turner’s signature live sound.
