The Superjesus are an Australian alternative rock band formed in Adelaide in 1994, originally known as Hell’s Kitchen. Fronted by singer and guitarist Sarah McLeod, the band became one of the most prominent acts in Australian rock during the late 1990s and early 2000s. They rose to national attention with their debut EP *Eight Step Rail* and breakthrough album *Sumo* (1998), which reached No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Known for their heavy guitar-driven sound, strong melodic hooks, and McLeod’s distinctive vocals, they achieved major radio success with tracks such as “Shut My Eyes,” “Down Again,” and “Gravity.” The band went on to release *Jet Age* (2000) and *Rock Music* (2003) before disbanding in 2004. They later reunited in 2013 and have continued to tour and release new material, maintaining their reputation as a key influence in Australian alternative and rock music.
