Bio
The Wraylettes are a Melbourne-based all-female rock band dedicated to performing and celebrating the music of legendary guitarist Link Wray. They are known for delivering raw, fuzz-heavy interpretations of Wray’s catalogue, alongside select “Link-inspired” original material, all performed with a loud, DIY garage-rock energy. Formed by musicians active across Melbourne’s underground scene, the group is a side project featuring members from other working bands. Because of this, The Wraylettes perform selectively, making their live shows relatively rare and special within the local live circuit. They have built a reputation for energetic, gritty performances that stay faithful to the spirit of early rock’n’roll and proto-punk, while adding a modern, all-female garage rock edge. Their shows often celebrate the legacy of Link Wray through both well-known tracks and deeper cuts from his catalogue.
