Bio
These Idle Hands are a musical collective hailing from the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. They formed around 2019. Their sound is characterised by “hauntingly retrospective, emotive & impressionistic” alt-folk / Americana. They use lush arrangements: acoustic guitars, violin, piano, double bass, banjo, banjo/slide guitar/ronroco in later albums, layered with strong vocal harmonies. Lyrical themes include relationship breakdowns, loss & love, disenchantment, family, memory, parenthood, and reflections on everyday life. Their third self-titled album released in January 2025 (recorded over ~2.5 years), explores such themes.
