Tim Bowness is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the co-founder and frontman of the art-rock project No-Man, alongside Steven Wilson. He emerged in the late 1980s within the UK alternative and experimental music scene, initially working with early electronic and indie influences before developing a more distinct style rooted in art rock, progressive pop, and atmospheric songwriting. Through No-Man, he became associated with a movement of British artists blending pop structures with experimental and ambient textures. As a solo artist, Bowness has focused on introspective, emotionally rich songwriting, often characterised by delicate vocals, cinematic arrangements, and a strong emphasis on mood and atmosphere. His solo work continues to explore the boundaries between pop, ambient music, and progressive rock, frequently collaborating with musicians from the wider prog and experimental scenes. He has also worked with numerous artists across progressive and experimental music, contributing vocals and production to a wide range of projects.
