TOMORA is an electronic music duo formed by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora and British producer Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers. The project blends Aurora’s distinctive ethereal vocals with Rowlands’ powerful electronic production, creating a sound that mixes alternative pop with high-energy electronic music. The duo’s name “TOMORA” is a portmanteau of “Tom” and “Aurora,” reflecting the collaborative nature of the project and their aim to function as a single creative unit rather than two separate artists. Aurora and Rowlands first developed their musical partnership through earlier collaborations. Aurora contributed vocals and songwriting to tracks on The Chemical Brothers’ 2019 album No Geography, while Rowlands later worked on material from Aurora’s 2024 album What Happened to the Heart?. These collaborations built a strong creative connection that eventually led them to form TOMORA as a dedicated project. The duo officially debuted in December 2025 with their first single “Ring The Alarm,” premiered on BBC Radio 1 and released with an accompanying music video. The track introduced TOMORA’s sound—a dramatic blend of driving electronic beats and atmospheric vocals. In 2026, TOMORA announced their debut album Come Closer, a record centered on themes of connection and human emotion in a technologically driven world. According to the artists, the album reflects the creative bond they developed while writing and recording together, aiming to combine escapism with emotional depth. Following the project’s reveal, TOMORA quickly gained attention after appearing on major festival lineups including Coachella, NOS Alive, Øya Festival, and Down The Rabbit Hole, marking the duo as one of the most anticipated new electronic acts of 2026.
