Bio
Vicious Irene are a punk band from Gothenburg, Sweden, formed in December 2001. The band emerged from the city's DIY punk scene and began with founding members Emzy and Lotta, quickly adding drummer My before embarking on an early tour of New Zealand. Their sound developed around hardcore punk, D-beat, crust punk and Scandinavian käng, with elements of grunge and dark rock'n'roll. Their 2019 album Sacrifice is described by the band as darker and heavier, combining D-beat, crust, käng and dark rock'n'roll. Over the years, Vicious Irene have toured extensively across Europe, including Germany, Poland, France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, as well as playing in the UK and the US. They have also appeared at festivals including Hultsfred Festival and Punk Illegal. Their discography includes Pink Pollution (2002), Takin' the Night Back (2004), Don't Suffer in Silence (2006), Trash Your Future (2009/2010), Distorted State of Mind (2012), a split with Vehemence (2016), and Sacrifice (2019).
