Bio
ViperSnatch is a Central Queensland–based alternative band from Capricornia, Queensland, formed in 2018 on Darumbal land. The project is known for its strong artistic identity and for bringing a bold, female-driven perspective to the Australian underground music scene. Their music blends a wide range of styles, including punk, rock, indie, folk, and grunge, resulting in a sound that is both genre-fluid and emotionally intense. The band often explores themes of identity, authenticity, and self-expression, with a clear “defy-labels” attitude reflected in their songwriting and presentation. Tracks such as *“Witchcraft, Baby,” “Therapy,”* and *“SLUT”* showcase their shifting sound—ranging from indie-leaning melodic sections to heavier punk and hardcore-driven energy. They’ve been described as sounding like acts such as WAAX, Veruca Salt, Babes in Toyland, Hole, and Mannequin Pussy, placing them within a lineage of alternative and punk-leaning female-fronted rock.
