Bio
VOLA (stylised in all caps) is a Danish‑Swedish progressive metal band formed in Copenhagen in 2006. The group consists of vocalist/guitarist Asger Mygind, keyboardist Martin Werner, bassist Nicolai Mogensen, and drummer Adam Janzi. They’re known for blending progressive metal with atmospheric electronic textures, introspective lyrics, complex compositions, and melodic hooks, creating a distinctive modern progressive sound that fuses heaviness with ambiance. Over their career they’ve released multiple acclaimed albums — including Inmazes (2015), Applause of a Distant Crowd (2018), Witness (2021), and Friend of a Phantom (2024) — and built an international reputation through rigorous touring and festival appearances across Europe, North America, and Asia. In early 2026 VOLA is touring Australia for the first time on their Friend of a Phantom world tour, bringing their immersive live show to several cities nationwide.
