Waiting for Brenda is an Australian original music project led by singer-songwriter Brenda Lee Kelly. The band blends indie folk, country, and alt-country influences with a warm, roots-driven sound built around storytelling lyrics and organic instrumentation. Their music features a rich mix of acoustic guitar, fiddle, bass, drums, dobro, and lap steel, creating a style often described as “country-tonk”—a fusion of traditional country and western tones with touches of indie and punk energy. Originally formed around Brenda’s home-recorded songwriting work, the project evolved into a full live band featuring a rotating group of musicians who bring depth, texture, and a dynamic stage presence to her songs.
