Bio
Willie J’s 6V6s are a high‑energy hard rock trio from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2023 around frontman Willie J Maxwell (vocals & guitar) with Seb Robertson (bass) and Cal Leavey (drums). They’re known for powerful live performances, gritty riffs, and classic rock‑inspired hard rock’n’roll that channels the raw intensity of Australia’s rock traditions while bringing a fresh modern edge. The band released their debut single *“Love on the Loose”* in late 2024, showcasing jagged, energetic guitar work, driving rhythms and dynamic vocals that evoke the spirit of vintage hard rock and rock’n’roll. They’ve been active on the live circuit with regular shows around Melbourne and beyond, including festival appearances and supporting larger acts. Willie J previously played in other local bands before forming the 6V6s, bringing experience from the regional rock scene to this project, which has quickly built a reputation as one of Australia’s exciting emerging rock outfits.
