Wishful Thinking are an Australian punk rock band known for their DIY approach to songwriting and collaboration across distance, with members spread across different parts of Australia including Queensland, Victoria, and other regions. The band formed as an online-based project, allowing members to write and develop music remotely before releasing it through independent and community-supported platforms. Their sound is rooted in punk rock and pop punk, drawing influence from bands such as Bodyjar and One Dollar Short. Their music features energetic guitar-driven arrangements, melodic hooks, and a blend of nostalgic early-2000s Australian punk energy with modern independent production.
