Xaviersobased (real name Xavier Lopez) is a New York–based rapper, producer, and songwriter known for his highly experimental, internet-driven approach to hip-hop. Emerging in the mid-2010s, he built an early following through online platforms and underground rap collectives, eventually becoming a central figure in the modern “jerk” microgenre movement alongside artists from the 1c34 collective. His music blends elements of jerk, trap, plugg, cloud rap, hyperpop, and experimental hip-hop, often characterised by distorted synths, chaotic drum patterns, lo-fi textures, and playful, unpredictable vocal delivery. He is known for pushing genre boundaries and embracing a DIY, internet-native aesthetic that reflects the SoundCloud and underground rap scene. Xaviersobased has released multiple projects including Keep It Goin Xav (2024), Once More (2025), and his debut studio album Xavier (2026), which features collaborations with major underground and mainstream producers and artists. He is also affiliated with collectives such as 1c34, and has been involved in shaping the new wave of online hip-hop culture.
