¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, the alias of Japanese DJ and producer Yousuke Yukimatsu, emerged from Osaka’s underground scene in the early 2010s and quickly developed a reputation as one of the most unpredictable and fearless selectors in electronic music. After debuting alongside DJ Nobu at the Future Terror party in 2014, he carved out his place on the global map through chaotic, emotionally charged sets that fuse techno, ambient, hardcore, gabber, noise, trance, and more. Before music took over his life, Yukimatsu worked in construction - doing hard labor during the day and DJing at night on barely any sleep. In 2016, everything changed when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After undergoing two surgeries and beating the disease, he made the decision to leave his job and dedicate himself fully to music. That transformation culminated in 2025, when he performed a now-legendary, shirtless Boiler Room set in Tokyo — raw, euphoric, and viewed by millions. His 2020 mix album *Midnight Is Comin’* (Midnight Shift) was praised by Pitchfork as “one of the most immersive DJ mixes in recent memory.” With appearances at Berlin Atonal, Wonderfruit, and Tianzhuo Chen’s *TRANCE*, Yukimatsu has become a cult icon on the edge of global club culture.
