About

Discovery more about Groovin The Moo Festival

Groovin the Moo is an annual music festival that spans six regional centers across Australia, typically taking place during autumn, specifically in May of each year.
Established by Cattleyard Promotions, the inaugural festival was held on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Gloucester, New South Wales. The festival continued annually until 2019, pausing for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival's history traces back to its debut at the Gloucester Showgrounds in 2005, drawing crowds of over 1400. Subsequent years saw expansions to Narrandera, Maitland, Albury, and Darwin.
In 2007, Groovin the Moo witnessed a breakthrough with headlining acts like Silverchair and The Black Keys, alongside popular Australian acts such as Hilltop Hoods, John Butler Trio, and You Am I. Townsville joined the tour circuit in 2008, followed by Bendigo the next year.
The year 2010 marked the inclusion of Bunbury and Canberra, with all shows selling out nationwide. Oakbank was added to the tour in 2014, promptly selling out.
A significant milestone occurred in 2018 when Australia's first pill testing trial took place at the festival in Canberra.
