A star is born
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has long been a home for Australia's finest musicians – and three more are about to join that rich tradition.
On 3 November, Conductor in Residence Benjamin Northey leads the Orchestra and three exceptional young soloists in the grand final of the 2026 ABC Young Performers Awards, live on stage at the Sydney Opera House.
The finalists have been announced: pianist Dillon Chan (VIC), violinist Beatrice Colombis (NSW) and cellist Charlotte Miles (VIC). These outstanding young musicians have advanced through the gruelling early rounds and been judged by some of Australia’s leading musical minds as the cream of this year’s crop.
Don’t miss your chance to hear these rising stars before they become huge.
