An uplifting afternoon of original jazz, blues and Latin grooves.
Acclaimed jazz pianist, vocalist and songwriter Neal Richardson returns with The Light Catcher, his third album and a heartfelt collection of music written to bring hope, beauty and connection to a troubled world.
For its official EFG London Jazz Festival launch, Neal brings together a stellar seven-piece band featuring some of the UKs finest jazz musicians. Expect new songs, soulful jazz and blues, vibrant Latin influences, irresistible swing and Neals unmistakable warmth and wit.
Influenced by Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole and Gene Harris, with vocals recalling the soulful spirit of Georgie Fame and Ray Charles, Neals music combines rich arrangements, rhythmic energy and engaging storytelling.
Following his previous albums Better Than the Blues and The Maximalist, The Light Catcher marks an exciting new chapter for Neal and his septet.
