The music at the Lame Duck is disco, retro pop throwbacks and female vocalist orientated music, such as Madonna, Donna Summers and Kyle Minogue. The Lame Duck constantly reaches capacity and gets long lines most weekends. This particularly happens when Fitzroy Beer Garden closes and Yah Yah's line is too long. The crowd is typically female and LGBTQI+, with a lower percentage of males than most clubs. The average age of Lame Duck is mid to late 20s and early 30s.
