In 2011, aged just 19 years old, Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule became Rizzle Kicks and soon had the world at their feet. The young duo’s cheeky, irreverent and catchy style saw them carve out a unique space for themselves over the next five years, putting out inescapably upbeat radio hits like ‘Mama Do the Hump’ from debut album Stereo Typical (2011) and ‘Skip to the Good Bit’ from Roaring 20s (2013). After a mutual decision to bow out of the music scene in 2016 for mental health reasons, the pair remained friends and when they eventually found themselves back in the studio together the chemistry was still there, along with a newfound maturity. Their recently released Competition is for Losers album was released to great fanfare, seeing the pair return to the pop music space sober, in love and equipped with life lessons, self-awareness and the sense of humour that always set them apart from other artists.
