The Admired are the band playing the last song at the high school dance, or soundtracking your older sister’s bedroom in the mid-00s.
Hailing from Sydney, the two-piece bring together an array of Y2K pop-rock influences, pulling from the likes of Goo Goo Dolls, Britney Spears and 00s pop-punk to bring you back to your poster-filled bedroom.
Bianca and Max have a longstanding history in the Australian pop-punk scene through their previous band, Grenade Jumper. With The Admired, however, they’re building something far more layered and personal, driven by a strong visual identity and a world designed to pull listeners further into the project.
“We wanted to develop a sound that evoked the yearning of the Y2K era - a time marked by being on the precipice of the unknown. In the early 00s, we were all so excited about the future, which I think is starkly different to how our generation feels today. The sound and aesthetic of that time is so brightly optimistic, and when we look back on it with rose-coloured glasses, there’s something bittersweet about it because we know what the outcome of the future is now.” - Bianca Davino
The Admired is on Saturday 21 November 2026, 9:00 pm to 12:00 am (Sydney time).
The Admired is at Vic on the Park, 2 Addison Rd, Marrickville NSW 2204, Australia.

Marrickville's local. Huge outdoor area, the carpark has been replaced with massive bleachers. Bands on Friday and Saturday. Basketball courts out the back and huge TV projector in carpark.
The Vic on the Park is the best pub in the inner west.
There are two key areas to the Vic - the carpark out the back and the inside front room. The carpark has a massive projector for sport, rows of seating, a basketball court and a grand stand seating area. This consistently has a crowd and is a massive space.
Inside is a regular old pub, where people get feeds, watch sport on TVs, and a band is on later in the night in the front room. The dance floor area is pretty variable It can absolutely launch inside with bands, other nights it can be pretty tame.
The crowd is very inner west. It tends to be a bit alternative, very casually dressed, a lot of tattoos and hats, and 25+.
It is massive, so very rarely has lines to get in.
"The Vic". Iconic pub in the inner west, with a car park turned beer garden, grand stand, basketball court, projector for sport and bands.
