Bio
Beatski (real name Alex Pappos) is a legendary veteran DJ and selector from Melbourne, Australia, with a career spanning 30 + years in the jungle, drum & bass, and breakbeat underground scene. He started DJing at early Melbourne rave parties in the late 1990s, including influential illegal raves like The Dark Half and Eclipse, where he helped champion UK jungle and drum & bass culture locally. Over decades he became a trusted tastemaker in Melbourne’s heavy‑bass community, supporting international jungle and D&B acts and playing at major local venues such as Wax Music Lounge, Revolver Upstairs, and Bar 303. He’s also deeply involved in community radio; since the mid‑2000s he’s presented shows on PBS FM (originally Better By The Pound, now The Blend), featuring D&B, dubstep, hip hop, and beats.
