Bio
Black Jesus Experience (often abbreviated BJX) is a vibrant Melbourne‐based ensemble formed in 2008, known for blending traditional Ethiopian music with hip-hop, funk, jazz and contemporary grooves. Led by singer Enushu Taye, the band draws on multicultural influences from its members (spanning five continents) to create an energetic live performance that’s equal parts dance-floor and roots music. They’ve collaborated extensively with Ethiopian jazz legend Mulatu Astatke, toured internationally (including Ethiopia, Europe, Australia) and received awards for their global fusion approach.
