Charm of Finches is a sister duo from Melbourne, Australia — made up of Mabel Windred-Wornes and Ivy Windred-Wornes. They write and perform “contemporary chamber‑folk,” blending delicate string instrumentation with intimate, haunting vocal harmonies. Their songs — often about love, grief, nature, and melancholy — evoke a bittersweet mix of beauty and introspection. Since their debut in 2014, Charm of Finches has released several albums — including Staring at the Starry Ceiling (2016), Your Company (2019), Wonderful Oblivion (2021) and Marlinchen in the Snow (2024). They’ve toured internationally (UK, Europe, Canada), earned critical acclaim, and won awards such as Best Folk Album at the 2022 Australian Folk Music Awards, and Best Contemporary Folk Act at the 2021 Music Victoria Awards.
