Music Description
CIVIC is an Australian rock band from Melbourne formed in 2017. They are known for their high-energy, raw sound that draws heavily from 1970s punk, proto-punk, and garage rock, mixed with a modern, aggressive edge. The band was founded by vocalist Jim McCullough alongside Lewis Hodgson, Roland Hlavka, and others, emerging from Australia’s underground hardcore and punk scenes. CIVIC gained attention with their early EPs before releasing their debut album Future Forecast (2021), which established them as one of Australia’s most exciting modern punk bands. They followed it with Taken By Force (2023) and Chrome Dipped (2025), expanding their sound while keeping their chaotic, high-intensity style. They are also known for their loud, unpredictable live shows, often described as controlled chaos, and have toured extensively in Australia and internationally.
