Claudio Rabe is a Madagascar-born, Réunion Island–based musician whose style fuses Malagasy traditional rhythms with rock, rap, trance, and electronic music. Initially trained as a dancer, he transitioned into music to explore his voice and heritage in a more expansive way. His performances are immersive, combining voice, percussion, guitar riffs, and movement into a high-energy stage presence. Rabe’s career gained momentum through appearances at major festivals such as Sakifo, IOMMA, and the prestigious Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges 2024 showcase. Internationally, he debuted at the Woodford Folk Festival in Australia, followed by a sold-out club show in Brisbane. In 2024 he released the EP Mosary [Hangry], which showcased his hybrid sound and thematic focus on hunger (literal and metaphorical). Singles such as “Somariaka” and “Hody” expanded his reach, with music videos highlighting both cultural roots and modern aesthetics. A deluxe project, Mosary Deluxe, is planned for 2026. Known for his ability to bridge ancestral grooves with modern production, Claudio Rabe is increasingly seen as a rising voice from the Indian Ocean, bringing Malagasy and Réunionese identity to international stages.
