Bio
Dakini Cuddle is an independent, Melbourne-based music project formed in late 2023 in Naarm (Melbourne), Victoria, Australia. The group is known for its soulful, experimental, and feel-driven sound that blends elements of future funk, jazz, jazz-soul, and spiritual funk — creating music that uplifts, expands and inspires listeners. The band is fronted by powerhouse vocalist and guitarist Ty La Moonchild, whose expressive voice and visionary presence shape the group’s celestial yet grounded musical identity. Supporting Ty are Gabe Coleman (keys), Rory Wilson (bass) and Oliver George (drums) — together delivering tight live performances that often combine groove, improvisation, and emotional depth. The name Dakini Cuddle draws inspiration from the figure of the “dakini” — a symbol of wisdom, energy and transformation — which the band seeks to embody through both their sound and live shows. Although they are unsigned and operate independently, Dakini Cuddle has already made waves in the live music scene with energetic gigs around Melbourne and beyond, and released original music including the single “Catch a Limb.”
