Bio
Drift is a rock band from Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, formed around 2020. They are known for crafting emotionally charged alternative rock that blends shoegaze, emo and indie influences into atmospheric soundscapes and evocative lyrics. Their music often explores themes of mental health, introspection and emotional tension, delivered through layered guitars, energetic rhythms and swirling vocals. In 2023 the band released their EP Candyland, which uses vivid metaphors to reflect struggles with depression and anxiety while balancing melodic intensity with raw emotion. Drift’s sound has been compared to shoegaze and indie rock acts such as My Bloody Valentine, DIIV and Narrow Head, and they have built a following for both recorded work and energetic live performances on Australian tours.
