Bio
Hayley Williams is an American singer-songwriter and musician best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of Paramore, the Tennessee rock band she helped form as a teenager. Paramore broke through with their 2007 album Riot!, establishing Williams as one of the defining vocalists of the pop-punk and alternative-rock scene. Her powerful, highly expressive vocals became central to Paramore's sound across albums including Brand New Eyes, Paramore, After Laughter and This Is Why. She has also co-written major songs including “Ain't It Fun” and “Decode.” Williams launched her solo career with Petals for Armor in 2020, expanding beyond Paramore's rock foundation into alternative pop, art pop, synth-pop, funk and experimental sounds. Her later solo work has continued to explore alternative and rock-oriented songwriting. She is a three-time Grammy winner, including recognition for Paramore's This Is Why and the song “Ain't It Fun.” Her 2025 solo album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party earned further Grammy nominations in alternative and rock categories.
