Bio
Playlunch is a Melbourne-based Australian band known for their high-energy, genre-blending sound they describe as “bogan funk.” Formed during the COVID-19 lockdowns, the project began as the brainchild of frontman and producer Liam Bell before evolving into a full seven-piece group. Blending elements of funk, rock, pop, and R\&B with nostalgic references to late ‘90s and early 2000s Australian culture, Playlunch have built a reputation for their humorous storytelling and chaotic, feel-good live shows. Since emerging in 2022, the band has quickly gained national attention through viral releases, triple j airplay, and sold-out performances. Their debut album Who’s Ready For A Good Time? (2023) established their cult following, while their 2025 follow-up Sex Ed further cemented their place as one of Australia’s most exciting rising acts. Known for standout tracks like “Keith,” which became a viral hit and chart success, Playlunch continue to push their playful, distinctly Australian identity while building a rapidly growing fanbase across the country.
