* Bedford-born producer and DJ Sam Girling feels less like an artist chasing moments and more like one settling into his own lane. After first gaining attention through self-released material in the early 2020s, Girling’s sound has continued to evolve at its own pace. Across 2025, it edged darker and more UK, leaning into late-night atmospheres while holding onto the euphoric instincts that have always underpinned his work. That shift landed firmly on dancefloors around the globe, with DJs such as Ben UFO, Call Super and Surusinghe picking up on his unreleased arsenal. One standout from that period was Rap TT, self-released on Girling’s Attacca imprint in 2025. After playing it repeatedly throughout the summer, Ben UFO posted a clip from Draaimolen calling it “one of the tracks I’ve played the most this summer, so good!” - a moment that neatly showed how naturally Girling’s music had slipped into the wider club conversation. Not long after, Girling followed up with Mick’s Helicopter on Warehouse Project Records, a release that helped sharpen attention around his trajectory and formed the backdrop to Surusinghe’s comment: “I feel like he’s like one summer away from being on every lineup.” Away from the studio, Girling runs Club Attacca, a DIY party series that began in Bedford and has since travelled further afield. Built on good sound and open-minded crowds, it mirrors his approach to DJing where house, garage and leftfield-leaning club music are all stitched together. Looking ahead, Girling relaunches Attacca as a label rooted in raw, white-label values: direct, club-first releases with no excess framing. This begins with Look What U Done, a long-awaited track that has been a staple in Ben UFO’s sets since summer 2025, finally seeing an official release to kick off 2026. Girling’s project is starting to blossom, becoming increasingly comfortable in the darker corners of the dancefloor. *
