Sanguisugabogg is an American death metal band from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2019 and known for their filthy, groove-heavy take on old-school death metal. Blending brutal riffs, hardcore energy, grotesque lyrical themes, and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, the band quickly became one of the standout names in the modern “caveman death metal” revival scene. Their music combines sludgy, down-tuned heaviness with primitive, stomping rhythms inspired by classic death metal acts like Obituary and Cannibal Corpse, while also pulling from hardcore’s raw live intensity. Releases such as *Tortured Whole* and *Homicidal Ecstasy* helped establish their reputation for chaotic live shows, gore-soaked aesthetics, and intentionally over-the-top songwriting.
