Bio
Swapmeet is an indie rock band from Adelaide, South Australia, formed on unceded Kaurna land and known for their energetic, experimental, and genre-fluid sound that blends indie, rock, punk, and sonic experimentation. They originally performed under the name Soursob before rebranding to Swapmeet. The band consists of four members: Joshua Doherty, Venus O’Broin, Maxwell Elphick, and Jack Medlyn. Their playful, chaotic live performances have made them a standout act on the Adelaide music scene. Swapmeet released their debut EP Oxalis in 2024, which helped build a strong fanbase and garner industry recognition, including wins at the South Australian Music Awards for Best Release and Best Song (Ceiling Fan). They also won the Justin Cosby Music Prize for Best Emerging Artist at SXSW Sydney 2025, further highlighting their rising profile in the Australian music scene.
