Bio
Takeover is a Brisbane-based punk rock band formed in 2024, consisting of Garry Long (vocals/bass), Jason Harris (lead guitar), Billy Henderson (rhythm guitar), and Matt Gardiner (drums). The band draws inspiration from the fast-paced, energetic sound of early 2000s pop-punk and melodic hardcore, delivering catchy hooks, driving guitars, and high-energy live performances. Their name reflects the intensity and energy they aim to bring to every show. The group released their debut single "Until Forever Ends" in March 2025, accompanied by a live performance music video filmed at Brisbane's Greaser Bar. They followed it with "Stuck" in June 2025 and "bury me (please)", earning praise from triple j Unearthed for their nostalgic pop-punk sound and tight musicianship. Takeover continues to build a strong reputation in Brisbane's local music scene through energetic live shows and emotionally driven songwriting.
