Bio
**PRIVATE WIVES** are a fierce all-female punk band from **Wollongong, NSW (Illawarra region)**. They deliver raw, unfiltered punk energy built on gritty guitars, heavy drums, and emotionally charged vocals that hit with intensity and urgency. Their music is driven by themes of frustration, empowerment, and calling out social issues, often channelling anger and lived experience into loud, unapologetic punk anthems. The band is associated with Australia’s modern punk scene alongside acts like **Amyl and the Sniffers, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, and Scowl**, positioning them within a new wave of aggressive, female-fronted punk and hardcore-influenced rock. They’ve built a reputation through DIY energy, live shows, and strong local scene support, emerging as part of the broader NSW punk/garage rock circuit.
