Bio
Tortoise is an influential experimental music group formed in Chicago, known for helping shape the development of post-rock and genre-blending instrumental music. The band—featuring Jeff Parker, Dan Bitney, Douglas McCombs, John Herndon, and John McEntire—creates highly collaborative, studio-crafted compositions that draw from rock, jazz, electronic, and minimalism. Since the 1990s, Tortoise has been widely recognised for their innovative, genre-defying sound and acclaimed albums like Millions Now Living Will Never Die, TNT, and Standards, as well as their dynamic live performances.
