Bio
Transvision Vamp were an English pop‑rock/new wave band formed in 1986 by guitarist Nick Christian Sayer and vocalist Wendy James. They became known for their brash, punk‑infused pop style and rebellious image, enjoying significant success in the late 1980s with singles like “Baby I Don’t Care” — which reached the top 3 in both the UK and Australian charts — and albums such as Pop Art and Velveteen. Their energetic blend of punk attitude, pop hooks and alternative rock helped them resonate internationally, including platinum sales and extended chart runs in Australia. The band disbanded in the early 1990s but has reformed in the mid‑2020s and announced an Australian tour for 2026 featuring Wendy James alongside new and returning members.
