Bio
Violet Tendencies are an emerging punk/alternative rock band from Naarm/Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with roots in the Frankston local music scene. Formed as a five‑piece outfit, they originally performed under the name Breakaways before adopting the Violet Tendencies moniker. The band has quickly gained traction in Melbourne’s independent circuit through energetic live performances and high‑octane recordings. Their sound blends the raw power and attitude of punk rock with alternative and indie influences, incorporating bursts of reggae and metal‑tinged riffs that keep their music dynamic and unpredictable. Known for their spirited shows and DIY ethos, Violet Tendencies have participated in live showcases and Battle of the Bands events alongside other rising acts in Brisbane and Melbourne. On Bandcamp and social channels, the band has released tracks such as “Hey Officer! (Live at Wrangler Studios)” and “Girls With Claws,” highlighting their gritty energy and genre‑blurring style.
