Brushy One String

The King of One String is coming to Hoots!

Jamaican original Brushy One String brings his one-of-a-kind live show to Hootananny Brixton, armed with little more than his battered one-string guitar and a voice that sounds like a whole band.

Born Andrew Chin and raised in Jamaica, Brushy grew up surrounded by music the son of legendary reggae singer Freddie McKay and developed his own unmistakable style blending reggae, blues, soul, folk and dancehall. His one-string guitar isn't a gimmick; Brushy uses the instrument for bass, rhythm and percussion while laying down powerful, soulful vocals over the top.
